Using
proprietary technology, biocompatible materials and a lot of ingenuity,
Flushaway has developed a truly unique and remarkable product to give
women all over the world a new level of convenience while providing a
solution to the growing environmental problem of waste disposal.
The
Problem:
Solid waste disposal is a major problem in North America. Landfills are
continuing to reach capacity and we are running out of space. Plastic
takes 200 years or more to degrade in landfills and diapers and napkins
are adding 730 tonnes of garbage every year.
The Solution:
After years of research Flushaway has perfected and patented the
technology for replacing the plastic films used in napkins and liners,
with its own B-9b film. This revolutionary film has all the properties
of regular plastic for the purpose of containing menstrual fluids, yet
it begins to break down as soon as it comes in contact with the water
in the toilet bowl. The swirling action and agitation in the bowl helps
break down the napkin so that it is totally flushable. The rest of the
material used in the napkins breaks apart while flowing through the
pipes and biodegrades 60% faster than the ASTM D5988-3
International standard requires.
